Le Workshop « Hormones et Comportements chez les Arthropodes » se tiendra les 5 et 6 juin 2018 à Tours (France).
L’objectif est de rassembler la communauté de scientifiques s’intéressant à l’endocrinologie et aux comportements des arthropodes, de sorte à stimuler les discussions sur les différents sujets clés dans ce domaine. Les points abordés iront des challenges technologiques liés à la quantification de l’hormone juvénile et des ecdystéroïdes chez des organismes de (parfois très !) petite taille aux nouvelles questions fondamentales et appliquées que nous devons maintenant aborder sur le rôle des hormones dans la médiation des comportements des arthropodes. Ces échanges nous permettront d’identifier de possibles évolutions convergentes au niveau des fonctions des hormones entre arthropodes et vertébrés.

The workshop « Hormones and Behaviors in Arthropods » will be held in Tours (France) on the 5th and 6th of June 2018.
The aim is to bring together researchers interested in endocrinology and behavioral ecology of arthropods, to stimulate discussions on various hot topics in these areas. Discussions will go from the technical challenges related to the quantification of both Juvenile Hormone and ecdysteroids in (sometimes) tiny animals, to new fundamental questions that we should now addressed on the role of hormones in the mediation of behaviors in arthropods. This collaborative endeavor will further allow the identification of possible evolutionary convergence of the hormone functions in different animal taxa (incl. vertebrates).
