Planning Manager – National Red Imported Fire Ant Eradication Program This is your opportunity to lead the planning and quality assurance function for a nationally funded treatment and surveillance program to eradicate the Red Imported Fire Ant from Australia. Red Imported Fire Ants are one of the world’s most invasive species. An exotic pest, this South American ant poses a serious social, economic and environmental threat to Australia. Fire ants are a category 1 restricted pest under the Biosecurity Act 2014 (Qld). Supported by a team of planning and quality assurance specialists, you will work collaboratively with other specialist teams including Science, Operations and Policy and Compliance Teams to deliver a world class eradication program.
Your opportunity
You will provide strategic treatment and surveillance planning for the eradication of red imported fire ants (fire ants). The key deliverables of this project are to guarantee the provision of all plans for treatment and surveillance are delivered within tight deadlines to the operations unit of the Program. You will also manage a rigorous planning process based on the highest densities of confirmed fire ant sites, anticipated spread patterns and highest risk using a range of tools including spread modelling, mathematical modelling, and spatial information.
